Medicare is divided into four main parts:
Part A – Hospital Insurance

              -
Covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice, and some home health care.
-
Most people don’t pay a premium for Part A if they paid social security taxes while working.

Part B – Medical Insurance

              -
Covers outpatient care, doctor services, preventive services, and some home health care.
-
You pay a monthly premium for Part B.

Part C – Medicare Advantage

              -
This plan includes Part A and Part B, plus prescription drugs and additional benefits like vision, hearing, and dental—all in one plan.

Part D – Prescription Drug Coverage

              -
Helps cover the cost of prescription drugs.
